Manifesting has become a commonplace word in the coaching industry.
In short, manifesting is the process of creating something through thought, energy and action. In not-so-short, it’s the act of bringing your dreams into reality.
But what do you do if you’re ‘trying’ to manifest and it’s not working (read: you aren’t waking up to an inbox flooded with inquiries), or you don’t really know how to manifest in the first place?
Luckily, we’re big fans of manifesting around here–and we’re more than happy to break it down for you.
Below, you’ll find 6 powerful techniques you can implement into your morning routine (or weekly CEO time) to manifest your dream clients quickly and easily. From simple changes in mindset to specific strategies, we’ve got it all.
1) Get Clarity on Your Dream Clients
The first step to manifesting anything is clarity. Translation? You’ve gotta get clear on exactly who your ideal client is. What are their challenges and problems? And on the flip side, what are their goals and desires? Also, who are they as people? What are their values and beliefs? What are their hopes and fears, in regard to your area of expertise and life in general?
And don’t forget the more ‘surface’ level stuff, too. Like, what do they look like? What do they do? What do they like and dislike? Essentially, what are their demographics?
You’ll also want to think about what working with them is like–for both of you. What do you want working with your dream clients to feel like for you? And how do you want them to feel on the receiving end?
And the final piece of the puzzle? Get clear on why you want to work with these clients. What is it about them–specifically–that you are so drawn to?
This will help you get clear on not only your desires, but the intention behind them.
2) Try Visualization
Once you have a clear picture of your dream client, you can begin to visualize them. Visualization is a fantastic way to manifest, and it works for everything (including dream clients!).
To start, find a quiet place where you won’t be interrupted. Close your eyes and begin to relax. Take several deep breaths and allow your body to release any tension. Now, literally imagine yourself meeting your dream client. Where are you? What are they wearing? How do they look at you? Listen to what they say. Notice how they make you feel.
Now, imagine yourself working with this client. Visualize yourself doing the work that you love with someone who appreciates and values it. See yourself receiving compliments and feedback from them. Hear them telling their biz besties about how smart, insightful and caring you are. Feel the satisfaction and inner joy that comes from helping them achieve their goals.
And don’t hold back, either. Allow yourself to really experience these emotions and sensations for a few minutes before coming back to the present moment. When you’re ready, open your eyes and take some time to write down everything that you visualized. This will help to solidify the image in your mind so that you can return to it easily whenever you need or want to.
3) Recite Client-Attracting Affirmations
Affirmations are another well-known manifestation technique. The gist is that by repeating positive statements about what you want, you can program your subconscious mind to attract the right clients to you.
But how can you use them to manifest dream clients?
Here are few specific examples of affirmations that you can use to manifest dream clients:
“I am worthy of attracting my ideal client.”
“I am magnetic to my dream client.”
“My dream client knows exactly how I can help them and is ready to work with me.”
“I am confident and clear about what I offer and who I serve.”
“I attract dream clients who are a perfect match for me.”
Repeat these affirmations daily, preferably in the morning or evening, and see how quickly your dream clients start showing up in your life.
Also, as a side note: Sometimes affirmations ‘don’t work’ for people because they’re too far from their current reality. For example, if you’re trying to use the affirmation, “I’m worthy of attracting my dream client” but your inner voice immediately says, “Nope, you’re not,” you can try a more neutral affirmation at first. For example, maybe you start by telling yourself, “I’m beginning to believe I’m worthy of attracting my ideal client” or “I’m open to believing I’m worthy of attracting my ideal client.” Once the more neutral affirmation feels real, you can start reciting the affirmation that once felt very untrue. It just takes time and practice.
4) Keep Your Energy and Vibes High (Mostly)
Real talk: Vibes are everything. (Just ask the kids these days.)
Every thought, feeling, and action emits a certain frequency into the Universe. And it’s this frequency that attracts back to you what you put out. So, if you want incredible things to flow into your life (like dream clients who literally can’t wait to pay you, get remarkable results and rave about you on all their social media platforms), you can start by raising your own vibration and putting your own good vibes out into the world.
Not sure where to start? Keep it simple and try a gratitude practice. Every day, take a pause to think about what you’re grateful for in your business. This could be something as simple as a client who referred you to finally landing that a super big project. Whatever it is, focus on the positive, and watch as more positive flows into your life over time as a result.
5) Take Inspired, Intentional, Aligned Action
While we love visualization, affirmations and gratitude, these passive practices will only get you so far.
Don’t get us wrong: Visualizing and reciting affirmations can be fun (and effective), but true manifesting also takes tangible action.
Whether that’s writing the uber-brilliant blog post series that popped into your head at 3 a.m. or intentionally carving out to time to interview your dream clients so you can craft social media content that speaks directly to their hearts, or even reaching out and making initial contact with a potential dream client you admire, you have to do something in order to get something in return. Just make sure whatever actions you take are inspired by excitement and joy, not fear or doubt. (Although let’s be real–you will feel a little fear whenever you’re doing something outside your comfort zone. But as long as your underlying reason for doing it isn’t fear or lack, you’re golden, friend!)
While any action is helpful, it can also be valuable to make sure your actions are aligned with your specific intentions. For example, if you intend to attract corporate clients, then networking at business events and connecting with people who work in HR or management positions would be an aligned action. Similarly, if you want to attract coaching clients looking for personal development, then popping up at local (or online) personal development seminars or joining a monthly women’s circle might be a better, more aligned action.
6) Be Open to Opportunities
As entrepreneurs, we like to be in charge. But unfortunately, we can get so hung up on the image of our perfect, dreamiest ideal clients that we fail to see other opportunities right in front of us.
For example, maybe right now you’re convinced your dream client is a 50-year-old woman looking to rediscover her ‘freedom’ after her kids fly the coop. However, what if a 20-something inquires about your services because they resonated with your message of ‘freedom,’ too–since they’re about to rent their 1st apartment alone and no longer have to take care of their younger siblings?
If you turn them away simply because they don’t match your very specific description, you could lose out on very impactful and fun experiences–not to mention clients and cash.
Our point? Your dream clients might not show up in the exact package or in the exact way you envisioned. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for opportunities outside the norm.
Essentially the ‘best’ way to manifest is to detach from an uber-specific, particular outcome, while still holding the overarching vision. And that’s the way it’s done, friend!
