So, what have I learned so far?
TONS. I wanted to share some insights.
What is the ultimate purpose of life? To become our highest self. Or a Good Soul.
How do we do this? By putting our virtues into action — because the greatest cause of our suffering is the gap between where we are and who we are capable of being.
So when we close that gap by taking action on our virtues consistently there is no more suffering. Our highest self is not longer screaming to be heard.
The virtues that we’ll focus on are:
- Wisdom
- Self Mastery
- Courage
- Love
Another thing that struck me in the training so far, is this observation about Viktor Frankl:
Frankl found himself in a concentration camp.
He realized that the career questions—What do I want from life? What can I do to make myself happy?—are not the proper questions.
The real question is, What is life asking of me?
If you don’t know, Frankl, the author of Man’s Search for Meaning, was able to find purpose and make an impact in one of the worst situations imaginable.
